Transport Allocator - Richlands Brisbane - QLD

Land Transport is a leading national Road Transport company who specialists in General Freight Transport. Operating for over 40 years, we are dedicated to putting our workers first, providing a safe work environment with job security.

We are currently looking for a hands on and experienced Transport Allocator to join our operations team in our Brisbane Depot located in Richlands.

You will be reporting directly to the Operations Manager, working in our operations department at the heart of the business.

AM Shift – 7:00am start
PM Shift – 11:00am Start

This role suits someone with strong allocation experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

About the Role

• Shed – Freight allocation & bay organization
• Local – Driver Run sheets for local driver Drivers (Body Trucks, Singles, B Doubles & Dog Run Drivers)
• Inter/Intrastate – organize and allocate freight for long distance drivers
• Documentation – ensure all con-notes, RCTI, driver run sheets are entered correctly and organized in an efficient manner.
• Ensure drivers are adhering to driver fatigue rules.
• Ensure trucks are preloaded and freight sorted for the next business day (PM Shift)
• Booking collection & delivery timeslots with customers.
• Answering the phones and redirecting incoming calls in a professional and engaging manner
• Taking pick up enquiries and bookings when required

 About You

We are looking for someone who has:

• At least 2–3 years of experience in a transport allocator role.
• Strong communication skills to liaise with Drivers, Yardies, Administration & Management.
• High attention to detail, able to stay composed under pressure with excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Sound computer skills, the ability to compose emails with customers, administration & management. Data entry and allocation into our freight management system.
• Knowledge in Load Restraint & Dangerous Goods will be received favourably
• Sound Geographical knowledge of Brisbane & Surrounding areas.

If you are a hands-on allocator with a passion for your work, this is the role for you. Your hours of work will be 38 hours per week working. Days & hours depend on which shift you are assigned to.
